Drive one hour north from Hakodate to the Onuma area. Onuma is known for its three lakes -- Lake Onuma, Lake Konuma and Lake Junsai.
Lake Onuma was formed when Mt Komagatake erupted, and the lava flow from the mountain dammed the river, creating the lake. You'll set out on a 30-minute boat ride on the lake.
Continue to Onuma Quasi-National Park. This is the birthplace of Hokkaido's resort industry and the ideal place to connect with the island's natural environment. There are multiple small islands on Lake Onuma. You will take a 40-minute hike along a road that allows you to walk across the bridges that link the islands. Enjoy island-hopping amid the natural beauty of the park.
You will stop briefly at a winery to taste some local wine before returning to the ship.
Notes:
Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring local currency for additional purchases. Tour order may vary.
