This privately arranged excursion offers a deep dive into Hiroshima's world-class craft spirits and the rich history of its beloved soul food, Okonomiyaki.
Your journey begins at SAKURAO DISTILLERY, operated by SAKURAO Brewery and Distillery, an establishment with over a century of passion for craft spirits. Located on the serene shores of the Seto Inland Sea with views of the World Heritage site Miyajima, this distillery produces exceptional malt and grain whiskies, as well as premium gins. During the tour, you will see the beautiful stills used to craft spirits from locally sourced Hiroshima ingredients. After observing the powerful distillation process in action, the visit concludes with a curated tasting of their finest whiskies and gins. For lunch, enjoy a private dining experience at "Micchan," the legendary establishment credited with the birth of Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki. While watching skilled chefs prepare the dishes on a large iron griddle (teppan), you will learn about the history of the dish, the stories of its founder, and the authentic way to enjoy this local delicacy. We invite you to savor this unique experience, filled with the very best that Hiroshima has to offer.
