The Bunje area at Hallim Park was once a barren sandy field of 81 acres but is now a world-class botanic garden. The local people started the garden by sowing and cultivating palm tree seeds and other specimens, creating a backdrop of vivid green. The palms now seem to stretch skyward, and the park’s subtropical botanical garden is a kingdom of rare plants. Within the park is the underground world of Hyeopjae & Ssangyong Cave Natural Monument, an exhibition of stones and bonsai artworks, a Jeju stone and bonsai garden, and the Jaeam Folk Village, where you can explore the traditional life of the people in Jeju.
