Begin your day with a journey to Chachoengsao—an historic town that is home to remarkable Buddhist temples, Chinese shrines and century-old markets. Driving through the picturesque countryside, passing rice paddy fields, you will stop to visit the Klong Suan Market, dating back to the reign of King Rama V. Walking through the market, you’ll get a feel for rural life in old Thailand. The market offers the nostalgic ambience of Thailand’s past embodied in a huddle of charming wooden shop houses that sell vintage items and tasty local foods. The market was once an important meeting point for villagers and people in the area because it was home to the community's only pier. Boats to Bangkok ferried the locals from Chachoengsao along a man-made canal to the capital. A 15-minute drive from here will bring you to the sacred Buddha image of Phra Phutthasothon or Luang Pho Sothon—the center of spiritual faith of the local community. Check out the new Ubosoth that houses a Buddha statue. You may have the opportunity here to see the traditional Thai dance and the local people paying their respects with boiled eggs. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant before you return to Laem Chabang.
