Journey to the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site Mt Kinabalu Park with a scenic two-hour drive past Dusun villages and over the ridges of the Crocker Range to the foothills.
Considered one of the world’s most important biological sites, Kinabalu Park showcases a fascinating and unrivaled ecological system surrounding one of the youngest non-volcanic mountains in the world. It was “born” within the last 10 to 35 million years and is the tallest mountain between New Guinea and the Himalayas.
Explore the park, visit its headquarters, and trek with your guides on one of the many nature trails. Your guide will point out the noteworthy native flora, including ground orchids, plants and ferns found along the trails, and the flora of the Mountain Garden on a short trail walk.
Sit down to a buffet lunch before reboarding your motorcoach and heading back to Kota Kinabalu.
Notes:
The temperature in the mountains is relatively cool; bring a jacket. Weather and atmospheric conditions vary; no guarantee is offered with regard to visibility or views on any particular day. Wear sturdy non-skid walking shoes.
