Discover the culture and history of Monado -- the provincial capital of North Sulawesi -- on this city tour.
Monado is located in the Bay of Monado and is surrounded by a mountainous area. A traditional war dance of the Minahasa region welcomes you as you board your coach.
You'll drive into the heart of Chinatown to visit the Ban Hin Kiong Temple -- one of the oldest Chinese temples built during the Qing Dynasty. This red temple is elegant and attractive and is covered with ornaments on every side.
Head towards the central city and visit an old church of Paroki Hati Kudus Catholic Church.
Take in the scenic views as you enjoy a traditional Indonesian lunch at a local restaurant.
Afterward, there's time for a shopping stop at the Tikala Shopping Street to purchase souvenirs or buy traditional cookies and snacks.
En route back to your ship, pause at the Monument of Christ Blessing -- one of the tallest monuments in Asia and the fourth-tallest statue of Christ in the world.

Tour requires approximately one hour of walking. Terrain includes mainly paved paths and gravel. The drive to Monado is approximately 1.5 hours each way. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable sunscreen. Bring bottled water. Modest attire is required for visiting religious sites; knees, shoulders and midriffs must be covered; shorts and capri-length pants are not allowed.
