A representative of Wrangell Golf Club greets you and takes you on a drive past the colorful vendor booths on the dock. Pass the local art gallery and head through the quaint downtown of Wrangell -- it's a short ride to Muskeg Meadows Golf Course.
The course is regulation nine-hole and USGA-rated. Gear up with clubs, a pull-cart and a bucket of balls so you can warm up before your round at the 250-yard driving range and practice green.
Enjoy your round -- cedar, spruce and hemlock temperate rain forest, snow-capped mountains and ocean views surround this challenging course. The signature hole is # 9 -- a 325-yard par 4 with a 30-foot-tall rock that blocks the view of the green. The Raven Rule states, "If a raven steals your ball, you may replace it with no penalty provided you have a witness."
When your round is over, visit the pro shop to find clothing and other golf items.
Notes:
Muskeg Meadows is not a manicured, high-end golf course. Instead, this is a friendly and authentic experience -- a local project with a loyal regional following. The putting greens are artificial. There are no clothing or shoe-type regulations; wear whatever suits you best, but bring layers for cooler conditions. Both right- and left-handed clubs are available. Tour does not operate on weekends.
