Valdez has only one land route to the Alaskan interior, and that is via the Lowe River, which runs through Keystone Canyon. Join a skilled guide for an exciting whitewater rafting adventure down the Lowe River -- an exciting and scenic ride.
Initially, Class I-II water offers an opportunity to get used to the raft and practice commands prior to entering the canyon.
As the canyon narrows, the rapids increase into Class III big-water. If the water is really moving, you'll hear boulders turning on the riverbed. It is the magical, musical sound of nature.
On a short section of calm water, you will stop at Bridal Veil Falls -- one of the many massive waterfalls adorning Keystone Canyon's sheer rock walls.
Then, it's back in the raft to navigate the rest of this magnificent canyon. You'll take out just as the canyon opens and the river calms.
