This trip is designed for those seeking a six- to ten-mile hike that really showcases the beauty of Sitka. Set out with a small group tour and a Sitka-based guide who is well-versed in local flora, fauna, culture and history of all the community trails.
Your guide will choose the trail based on the ability of participants and the day's conditions. Among the many choices are Indian River, Beaver Lake, Herring Cove, Blue Lake, Thimbleberry and Medvejie Lakes, Heart Lake, and Harbor Mountain Ridge.
Notes:
Participants must be physically fit. Please realistically assess your physical fitness and ability before booking, as the walk is uphill, over unpaved, rough walking tracks with many steps. Minimum height is 4'0". Minimum age is 12 years. Total hiking time is approximately 3.5 hours. Wear sturdy non-skid walking/hiking shoes. Dress warmly in layers with a wind- and waterproof outer layer. Bring bottled water.
