The excitement begins the moment you step aboard your one-of-a-kind expedition vessel. Enjoy a relaxing, narrated sightseeing cruise en route to the pristine Siginaka Islands. Sit in the comfortable heated cabin as you watch for wildlife frequently seen along the way.
After docking at a private island paddle base, your guides will provide an orientation to kayak skills. Then, board your two-person sea kayak and set off to explore a magical labyrinth of small islands.
Gliding quietly through narrow passages, your guides will help identify the colorful marine life visible below, including crabs, sea stars, anemones, sea urchins, jellyfish and more. Above the waterline, there are frequent sightings of sea otters, sea lions, porpoise, harbor seals, bald eagles, and a variety of marine birds. You'll also learn a little about the natural history of the area, which is sacred to the native Haida and Tlingit peoples of today.
After about 90 minutes of paddling, land back at the base camp to enjoy a snack and take in the awe-inspiring views before reboarding the expedition vessel and returning to the ship.
