Experience majestic White Pass and Canada's legendary Yukon region. Breathtaking scenery, a picturesque Native town, and a delicious barbecue lunch make this an exhilarating day.
Travel by air-conditioned motorcoach on a narrated drive through historic downtown Skagway. You're headed to White Pass by way of a scenic drive up the Klondike Highway. The road parallels the White Pass & Yukon Route railroad and peaks at 3,290 feet above sea level. Marvel as the scenery changes dramatically from lush rain forest to stark granite. All around you, mountains tower and lakes of all sizes dot the valleys. Photo stops allow you to capture some amazing images. Your driver tells stories of the gold rush that shaped this region.
Continue to the Yukon Suspension Bridge, located above the whitewater rapids of the Tutshi River. It's a dramatic walk across the bridge in fresh mountain air with the river raging beneath you. Learn about the area's natural and human history at the interpretive exhibits of this outdoor museum.
At the Caribou Crossing Trading Post, satisfy your wilderness appetite with a delicious chicken barbecue lunch and all-you-can-eat homemade donuts.
The Yukon's most extensive Wildlife Museum awaits you. Stroll among creatures of Yukon's past and present, with favorites including a steppe bison, grizzly bears, monster moose, a woolly mammoth and the world's largest mounted polar bear.
Absorb some authentic Canadian culture at Caribou Crossing's newest exhibit -- the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Heritage Center. This interpretive display focuses on the history of Canada's Mounties and highlights their role during the Klondike Gold Rush.
Visit the Dog Mushers' Village to meet Iditarod dog handlers. Pictures with the sled dogs and husky puppies are undeniably cute. For an extra fee (at your own expense), join them for a dog-cart ride. Kids of all ages will enjoy the petting farm.
Do some sightseeing and souvenir shopping in the Native town of Carcross (Caribou Crossing) before heading back down the highway to the ship.
