Follow the original Gold Rush Trail of '98 up one of North America's most breathtaking mountain roads.
As you drive along the scenic Klondike Highway, the large picture windows of your minibus afford spectacular views. Your route parallels the historic White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad as your guide's narrative brings the area's history to life. There are many sights along the way, including Dead Horse Trail, the old Brackett Wagon Road, Pitchfork Falls and Moore Bridge.
Reach the West White Pass summit at a lofty 3,290 feet. The pristine air is invigorating, and the vast silence is broken only by the wind whistling across the rugged landscape of the St Elias range.
Notes:
Dress warmly in layers with a wind- and waterproof outer layer; bring gloves, a scarf and a warm hat. This adventure crosses the US/Canadian border; US and Canadian citizens must carry a passport and ship ID. All other nationalities must have a valid passport, visa and ship ID. Childern not accompanied by both parents must have a letter of authorization signed by the absent parent. Wheelchairs and scooters cannot be accomodated on the vintage street cars; participants must be able to climb three steps to (dis)embark the bus.
