Set out through the heart of Southeast Alaska, where towering peaks, emerald rainforests, and cascading waterfalls create a world unlike any other.
Step aboard a boat and let the wilderness come alive for you. Within minutes, you'll spot your first eagle's nest as your guide shares tales of the gold rush era and the legendary Chilkoot Trail that drew fortune seekers north. As you journey deeper into the fjord, the past and present intertwine: rugged landscapes, pioneering stories, and the timeless rhythm of falling water.
Each waterfall along the route has its own character and story. At Burrow Creek, learn how the Homestead Act shaped early settlement and Skagway's development, including its hydroelectric legacy. Harding Falls recalls the visit and scandal of President Harding's time in Alaska.
Twin Falls delivers a major "wow" moment, followed by the Staircase, Fingers, and Lightning Falls. At Sisters Falls, tucked into a protected nook, you'll pull in close enough to feel the cool mist and hear the thunder echo through the canyon.
Taiyasanka Harbor forms a stunning natural amphitheater, carved by glaciers during the last ice age. This is one of the best places to spot bears, mountain goats, and eagles, a true wildlife haven. Time slows down as you take in the view and glimpse an old barge wreck from the early 1900s resting on the shore.
Sawmill Falls boasts the largest waterfalls by volume and is a living example of Alaska's shifting landscape, where isostatic rebound has lifted land once beneath the sea.
A quick pass by Slide Falls offers a lighthearted moment, while Bathtub Falls, with its small pool and perched eagles, provides another view of nature's artistry.
Finally, Long and Hidden Falls together create a breathtaking climax — a perfect reflection of the journey itself — powerful, serene, and memorable.
