This guided hike covers approximately 2.2 miles and takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours to complete (depending on pace of guests). The tour is rated easy for mobile and active hikers. Your guide will provide trekking poles and interpretive information as the hike meanders in the glacial area, sharing photos of the glacier at various times in the past of where the face of the glacier was located at those times. They will share a bit of glacier knowledge as your group travels along the lower overlook trail. The trail is unimproved gravel (and rock in some areas) and will ascend 900' of elevation to the overlook area. You'll also visit the Nature Center where you can get your park card stamped, buy souvenirs and also view the several displays that the park service has provided. Entire tour including travel times is approximately 2.2 hours.
Notes: Service animals are permitted. Hike is easy for mobile and active hikers. Guests should be able to walk on undeveloped gravel and rocky trails. Minimum age: 10 years. Maximum height 6' 8". Maximum weight 300 lbs.
