Enjoy a relaxed and scenic morning exploring one of Seattle's most character-filled neighborhoods and a historic maritime district known for its Scandinavian roots and lively local culture.
Head to the Ballard Farmers' Market to browse among artisan stalls, sample fresh local produce, enjoy baked goods, and soak in the vibrant neighborhood atmosphere. This beloved Sunday market offers an authentic glimpse into Seattle's local food scene and community life.
The nearby Hiram M. Chittenden Locks are one of the city's most fascinating waterfront attractions. Watch boats pass between Puget Sound and Lake Union as the water levels rise and fall in the locks, and observe migrating salmon using the fish ladder (seasonal).
Stroll through the adjacent Carl S. English, Jr. Botanical Garden — a peaceful oasis featuring colorful flowers, mature trees, and beautifully maintained pathways.
