Here's a taste of Seattle's great chocolate and coffee cultures, where purveyors to the discerning share their ethos, ethic, and aesthetics to draw you into their world of intentional consumption.
A short drive brings you to Maeve Chocolate — Seattle's acclaimed bean-to-bar atelier. Founded by Irish chocolatier Liz Caskey, Maeve is a creative, minimalist space rooted in curiosity, sustainability, and slow craft. This private experience includes a tour of the production studio and a guided tasting of thoughtfully sourced, small-batch chocolate. From the ethics of sourcing to the layers of flavor in each melt-in-your-mouth bite, Maeve is a celebration of intentionality and wonder.
Transition from cacao to coffee as you head north to Seattle. The Fulcrum Coffee Roastery is an immersive coffee wonderland where innovation meets tradition. Follow the journey of coffee from the farm to your cup, watching the roasting process up close. An expert barista will guide you through a curated tasting, highlighting how origin, climate, and preparation impact aroma and flavor. Learn the four key steps to unlocking a coffee's profile, making this a brilliant hands-on experience for both casual drinkers and true coffee aficionados.
Further north, a narrated scenic drive passes some of Seattle's most iconic landmarks, neighborhoods, parks, and attractions. Watch for Fifth Avenue, historic Pioneer Square, and the International District on a drive through the downtown core of Seattle. Learn about Seattle's roots and how it has morphed into a modern, eclectic city on the rise.
Pass through the Belltown neighborhood and drive past Pike Place Market — the oldest open-air farmers' market on the West Coast, dating back to 1907.
Watch for the Space Needle, built for the 1962 World's Fair and still a treasured Seattle icon, every bit as cool today as it has ever been.
From the Olympic Sculpture Park, take in scenic views with a brief photo stop, and continue to the cruise ship pier in time for boarding.
