Survival in Alaska: Rugged and challenging, right? Well, maybe in real life, but not on the Denali Survival Tour!
This is your chance to learn all about survival in the rugged climate of Denali without actually having to do any "surviving" yourself. We provide an introduction to Alaskan survival while teaching you real-world skills that could help if you ever get caught out in the wild.
This tour is entirely off-trail, so be ready for some short but steep hills, uneven ground, and mild bushwhacking (pushing through bushes and shrubs). Your expert survivalist guide will lead you through the forest, stopping to point out edible, medicinal, and otherwise useful plants. You'll be sampling plants and berries along the way, getting a real taste of what it's like to live off the land.
When you reach a suitable location, your guide will stop and begin "dirt time." This is where you'll get your hands dirty and learn practical skills, including: building shelters, making fire with sticks and shoelaces, creating small traps, and navigating the first five days of a survival situation. You'll get hands-on experience and hear incredible stories of survival along the way.
This tour is perfect for families and people of all ages. If you're looking to get off-the-beaten-path and experience the real Alaska, book your spot today!
Special Notes: Wear sturdy hiking shoes or boots and dress in layers. Trekking poles, rain jackets, and bug spray are provided. Must be able to walk on uneven terrain and stand for 3 hours.
