Denali’s newest wayside and trailhead, the Tsenesdghaas Na’ trailhead takes you on an adventure through the forest with scenic views of the Nenana River. The Nenana River corridor extends from the Park Road entrance south to milepost 231 on the Parks Highway and is bounded to the west by the Parks Highway and to the east by the Nenana River. The first 0.75 miles (1.2 km) of the trail is 3-5 feet wide (0.9-1.5km) with a compacted gravel surface that ends at an overlook of the Nenana River canyon. Beyond the canyon overlook, the trail becomes narrower with steeper grades and uneven surfaces as it winds deeper into the landscape. The trail terminates on a high bluff overlooking the Nenana River and Yanert River confluence. (More trail is being constructed.) This trail is a photographer’s dream with picturesque views of the Nenana River! The wayside offers a perfect photo memento as you pose with the Denali National Park sign.
