Day 1 (D) Anchorage - Alyeska
Begin your day with a beautiful panoramic drive along a section of Turnagain Arm's shoreline. This route is a scenic byway consistently ranked among the top drives in all of North America.
You soon find yourself in the resort community of Girdwood at the base of Alaska's largest ski resort -- Alyeska -- whose coastal climate and cold temperatures produce up to 54 feet of snow each year.
Take the Alyeska Tram 2,300 feet up to the summit for outstanding views of distant glaciers hanging from snowy peaks.
You'll also visit the Alyeska Nordic Spa -- your chance to explore pools of varying temperature, from cold plunges to saunas, fire pits, and steam rooms.
Afterward, a dinner voucher is provided to be redeemed at any of the resort's five restaurants.
Hotel: Alyeska Resort
Day 2 (B) Alyeska - Anchorage
Spend a leisurely morning at the resort with breakfast at the Forte restaurant included. Whichever activity you didn't complete yesterday will be on your agenda this morning. You may also like to explore the numerous walking trails. Travel to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center -- a sanctuary that takes in injured and abandoned wildlife in hopes of rehabilitating them to be released back into the wild. See wolves, moose, bears, and caribou and enjoy some free time to explore.
Return to the ship in Anchorage.
