Set out on a leisurely 9.5-mile guided bike ride along Anchorage's famous Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. There are plenty of opportunities for photos along the way as this bike ride along the coast offers views of five different mountain ranges. En route, your guide will share the natural and human history of Anchorage and the surrounding area. You will visit Earthquake Park and bike through some of the devastation from the 1964 earthquake, still visible more than a half-century later.
Your ride ends at Westchester Lagoon -- a waterfowl sanctuary.
Notes:
Tour begins at the Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center, located at 600 W 7th Avenue in downtown Anchorage. High-quality bikes, helmets, biking gloves and rain gear. Participants must know how to ride a bike and be comfortable shifting gears and using handbrakes. Tour operates on paved bike trails with gentle grades. Wear closed-toe shoes (mandatory). Wear comfortable athletic clothing. Minimum age is 10 years. Minimum height is 4'7". Maximum weight is 275 lbs. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Snacks are provided.
