The Knik Valley is the hidden gem right outside of Anchorage -- an excellent place for a taste of Alaska off-roading. ATV (all-terrain vehicle) riding is always fun, but in this spectacularly scenic valley, the trail covers a lot of terrain.
You'll skirt the Knik River at the base of Pioneer Peak, cross Jim Creek, and ride over dry riverbeds. Make your way to Friday Creek, eventually arriving at the lookout with a view of Knik Glacier in the distance if the weather is clear. The trail itself is well-defined yet rugged. You'll cross streams and other obstacles as your expert guide shows you the way.
Whether you're a thrill-seeker looking for adventure or a family group looking for an excellent outing, the vast trail system caters to every rider's experience level and off-roading skill.
