Transfer to the Anchorage rail depot and board a deluxe double-decker dome rail car for a scenic journey north to Talkeetna. All passenger seats located on the top floor for amazing views through the glass ceiling. The lower floor of the train is a full-service, sit-down restaurant. You are welcome to purchase breakfast (at your own expense) during your approximately three-hour ride to Talkeetna.
In Talkeetna, you have a few hours to explore this quaint community nestled at the confluence of three rivers and at the base of the Alaska Range. On clear days, take in the best views of Mt Denali (formerly Mt McKinley) -- the tallest peak in North America.
Return to Anchorage and the ship by deluxe motorcoach -- a two-hour road journey south.
