Begin with a panoramic drive through the historic city center of Santos.
The Coffee Museum is located in a former palace, built in 1922 to celebrate 100 years of Brazilian independence. The museum is called the Coffee Trade Palace, or Palacio da Bolsa do Café.
Continue to the Pele Museum. The facility opened in 2014 during the World Cup in Brazil, marking a watershed moment for Santos, where Brazil's 'King of Soccer' played for the Santos Football Club during most of his career.
The Santos Municipal Aquarium, built in 1945, includes a total of 50 tanks, covers an area of 11,000 square feet and was included in the 1995 Guinness Book of Records as the largest aquarium in Brazil.
Return to the pier by way of Gonzaga Beach, bordered by hotels and high-rise condominiums.
Notes:
Tour includes two-plus hours of moderate walking plus any additional walking during the free time. There are some uneven surfaces to negotiate. Suitable for guests using a collapsible wheelchair able to make their own way on and off the coach with a companion to assist. Not advisable for guests with mobility limitations. Please realistically assess your physical fitness and ability prior to booking. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable sunscreen. Bring bottled water. Tour does not operate on Mondays. Your guide will do his/her best to speak English, but please keep in mind that the limited tourism infrastructure of Santos is part of the city’s charm, and bear with any language difficulties he/she may encounter. Tour may be conducted by a Portuguese-speaking guide and an English-language interpreter.
