Venture beyond the city lights to Holmen Husky Lodge, an authentic Arctic retreat where you'll search for one of nature's most spectacular displays, the Aurora Borealis. Located just outside Alta, the lodge offers excellent conditions for viewing the Northern Lights.
During your visit you’ll have the opportunity to meet the lodge's friendly pack of Alaskan huskies and learn about life with these remarkable dogs. Then gather in a traditional Sami lavvo, where you'll warm up around a crackling fire and enjoy hot drinks while your host shares fascinating insights into the science, myths, and history of the Northern Lights. Your host will also provide helpful tips on camera settings to capture the perfect aurora photo.
As darkness settles over the Arctic landscape, step outside and watch the sky for the mesmerizing colors of the Northern Lights dancing overhead.
Notes:
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon; the chances of spotting them are high, but sightings cannot be guaranteed. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Wear sturdy non-skid walking shoes. Bring a flashlight to guide yourself along the terrain. Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, inclines, gravel, and grass. Children under the age of 3 must be secured in a child's car seat on the transportation. These are not available through the tour operator; you must bring your own from home. Tour is non-refundable 7 days prior to the date of the call.
