Transfer 75 minutes to Kanazawa to unlock its amazing cultural treasures.
Visit the Senda Residence Garden — a tranquil, traditional garden known for its understated beauty and refined composition. Although modest in size, the garden exemplifies the subtle elegance of Japanese garden design, incorporating carefully placed stones, greenery, and seasonal elements. The serene atmosphere reflects Kanazawa's distinctive aesthetic sensibility, emphasizing balance, restraint, and an appreciation for nature throughout the year.
Continue to the Nagamachi Samurai District, once home to many of Kanazawa's Samurai. Kaga was unlike other Japanese fiefdoms because its Samurai lived in Kanazawa town. View the remnants of their houses today, along with a few surviving residences, earthen boundary walls, narrow lanes and canals.
The tour proceeds to the Ishikawa Prefectural History Museum. The museum presents the history of Ishikawa Prefecture from ancient times through the modern era using clear, engaging, and well-organized exhibits. Displays highlight the development of regional culture, daily life, craftsmanship, and historical events that shaped the area. This visit provides a broader context and a deeper understanding of Kanazawa's cultural and historical background.
Notes:
Travel time to Kanazawa is approximately 75 minutes each way. Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, cobblestones, gravel, grass, and steps. You must remove your shoes at one or more location(s). Wear comfortable walking shoes. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, etc) cannot be accommodated on the transportation. Tour requires walking approximately 700 yards from the coach parking area to the residence area. Expect crowding, as this is a popular attraction. Bring local currency, as many vendors do not accept credit cards or US dollars. Unfamiliar accents can be challenging; feel free to ask your guide to repeat or elaborate on information, and to speak more slowly so you can fully comprehend and converse. Tour order may vary.
