Unspoiled, unhurried, and untouched by the 21st century, uninhabited Managaha Island may measure less than ten miles, but its small size proves that big surprises come in small packages. Located in the Saipan Lagoon, this treasured isle is part of the Managaha Marine Conservation Area, designed to protect and preserve 240 species of hard coral, 31 species of soft coral and sea fans, and more than 100 fish species and green sea turtles. It's also an ideal destination to snorkel in the pristine waters and discover the wonders down under.
Once aboard the boat, take a life jacket, mask, and fins. Just 15 minutes later, you'll arrive at Managaha, where you can stroll on the beach or slip beneath the waves and swim among schools of exotic marine life, such as unicorn fish, giant clams, mushroom corals and green sea turtles.
Notes:
Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.
