Visit the only remaining Carib Native territory in the world and the beautiful, secluded Jaco Falls.
Your adventure begins with an approximately 40-minute drive through the rain forest.
Leave the coach and stroll to a viewpoint, or walk the optional steps to the Jaco Falls waterfall pool. Here, you can take a swim in the refreshing water.
Continue to a Native-built Eco Village, where you will enjoy a flavorful lunch buffet of local fare. The Carib Natives entertain you with their folkloric dances. Your Native Carib guide introduces you to the history and culture of his/her people, who inhabited the Caribbean long before the arrival of Christopher Columbus.
Make the most of your time to relax by the natural pool of the Pagua River, which runs past the village. You can also see how the Caribs make their award-winning handicrafts.
Back on the coach, a panoramic drive takes you through the Carib Reserve as you head towards Horseback Ridge. Take photos from here of the beautiful valleys and mountains.
At the Botanic Gardens, you will see the colorful and endangered Jaco and Sisserou parrots before returning to the ship.
Notes:
Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk.
