A panoramic drive by motorcoach brings you to the town of Esparza. Local young people in costume will greet you at the park with a colorful dance demonstration. Browse among stalls of handmade souvenirs here.
Head to the famous Tarcoles River on Costa Rica's Pacific coast, near the lush forests of Carara National Park. Recognized as one of the country's most important waterways for wildlife observation, the Tarcoles River offers a great perspective on Costa Rica's rich biodiversity. Board a pontoon boat to navigate the calm waters, keep an eye out for the river's most iconic residents — the impressive American crocodiles. Some of the largest exemplars in Central America are often seen here, basking along the riverbanks. The area is also a paradise for birdwatchers, with an extraordinary variety of species including herons, egrets, kingfishers, roseate spoonbills, ospreys, cormorants, and many migratory shorebirds. Scarlet macaws, one of Costa Rica's most colorful and beloved birds, are also frequently spotted in the forest canopy. Learn about the Tarcoles River and its protected surroundings, which play a vital role in Costa Rica's conservation efforts.
At the CROC Sky Walk Experience Center, observe crocodiles from a scenic viewing platform. You'll also enjoy a chocolate-making demonstration, sample tropical fruits and Costa Rican coffee, and browse for handcrafted souvenirs.
