Long Description:
Hop into a waiting RIB (rigid inflatable) boat, just 500 yards from the ship, for a brilliant outing on the waters surrounding Nanortalik. A myriad of enormous icebergs form the basis of the ecosystem for a large variety of marine mammals — seals, humpback whales and minke whales, as well as numerous seabird species. Watch for any and all of these fascinating creatures as you cruise among them.
Notes:
Tour requires walking 500 yards (meters). Minimum age is 16 years. Wildlife sightings are likely but not guaranteed. Flotation suits are provided and must be worn (sizes S - 3XL). Wear sturdy, non-skid walking shoes. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Limited tourism infrastructure is part of the charm here, and you are trading breadth of guide experience for authentic interaction. Please bring your spirit of adventure and bear with any language difficulties your guide may encounter and with any operational surprises that may crop up. There are no restrooms available during the tour.
