The port of Santos, founded in 1535 by a Portuguese nobleman, is one of the oldest towns in Brazil. Take the Anchieta and Piassaguera Highways into town, passing the Cubatão petroleum refinery district.
En route, you'll stop at Guarujá to visit the famous beaches on the coast of São Paulo State. Guarujá is renowned for its summertime population of São Paulo residents, who flock to their weekend villas and apartments to escape the bustle of the city.
At Pitangueira Beach, take advantage of 30 minutes of free time to stroll along the waterfront.
Return to Santos' port by way of São Vicente.
The Orchidarium is also a must-see. A half-hour of free time in this beautiful orchid garden is a balm to the soul.
