Discover, at your own pace, the beauty of Cartagena. Start at the pier and transfer to the Historic District, where your air-conditioned hop-on, hop-off coach tour will begin.
Hop off and visit one of the most iconic sights of Cartagena: the Clock Tower and the main entrance to the Old City. From there, explore the Walled City with an optional guided walking tour that takes you through its streets, balconies, and plazas, for a taste of modern Cartagena, explore the shopping mall in Bocagrande, where you can browse in the stores, enjoy local restaurants, or relax at the nearby beach at your own pace. Alternatively, discover Getsemaní, where colorful murals, vibrant streets, Umbrella Street, and authentic cultural expressions showcase the neighborhood's special character.
Back on the bus, you'll have three extra photo stops at San Felipe de Barajas Castle, site of the famous battle between the British Admiral Edward Vernon and Spanish Naval officer Blaz de Lezo y Olavarrieta. See Las Bóvedas — a historic arcade built into the city walls, now home to colorful shops and local crafts. The Inner Bay offersscenic views of Cartagena's waterfront, modern skyline, and historic surroundings.
At Emerald Adventure, during your walking tour, learn all about the history and majesty of Colombian emeralds, whose many exhibits showcase the history of this precious gem. Learn specific pointers on distinguishing a genuine emerald from a fake one. Feel free to browse in the shop selling authentic Colombian emeralds.
Notes:
The entire bus loop without stops is approximately two hours. At the start of your tour, you will walk from the ship to board the hop-on, hop-off bus in the Cruise Terminal. Due to the nature of this tour, there will be no refunds. It is your responsibility to return to the ship before all-aboard time. Tour sequence may vary. Tour operates rain or shine, but may be canceled by the operator in the event of extreme weather or unsuitable conditions. Entrance fees to attractions are not included in the tour price. Walking is optional at your discretion, and there is only one opportunity to sign up for the walking tour. Sidewalks in the Walled City are narrow; not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or scooter or for those with mobility limitations. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable sunscreen. Bring bottled water. The tour provides only three opportunities for independent exploration at the following designated stops: Cartagena Convention Center (Getsemani), Clock Tower (Torre del Reloj), and Cartagena Plaza Shopping Mall. Choose your preferred stop carefully, as additional free time is not available during subsequent loops. Each loop includes panoramic sightseeing and photo stops at San Felipe Fortress, Cartagena Inner Bay, and Las Bóvedas, available during every circuit. The bus returns to each designated stop according to the loop schedule shared on the day of the tour. Participants must be at the pickup location prior to the scheduled arrival time, as the bus does not wait.
