Your tour begins with a short drive past Lake Prestvatn en route to the Norsk Vitensenter — one of 13 regional science centers in Norway. Step inside the facility to enjoy a 20-minute film in the planetarium, which showcases the wonders of the Northern Lights as experienced by those who live around the Arctic Circle. Seven months of winter sky-watching, hundreds of thousands of photographs and hundreds of hours under the spell of the aurora borealis have been condensed into the world's first all-dome 360-degree, high-resolution movie of the Northern Lights.
From here, cross the Tromsø Bridge to the mainland and discover the modern architecture of the breathtaking Tromsdalen Church, also called the Arctic Cathedral. This mighty structure features a beautiful stained-glass window depicting the Resurrection of Christ.
You'll learn a little about the city of Tromsø on a panoramic drive through the city as you head back to the pier.
Notes:
Inside church visit(s) may not be possible if religious services are being held or if precluded by time constraints. If the Tromsø Bridge is closed, the cathedral will be accessed via an alternative route that may involve a tunnel. Children under the age of 3 must be secured in a child's car seat on the transportation. These are not available through the tour operator; you must bring your own from home.
