Join this captivating two-hour boat excursion and experience the remarkable wildlife of Ísafjarðardjúp Bay — the largest fjord in Iceland's Westfjords region. During the summer months, the bay becomes a haven for an exceptionally rich and diverse range of fauna.
Thousands of seabirds, including the iconic Atlantic puffin, gather along the coastline and on the bay's islands.
The tour offers excellent opportunities to observe birds and other wildlife in their natural surroundings. On the way to and from these observation areas, there is also a chance of encountering whales or seals, which are sometimes seen in the waters of Ísafjarðardjúp Bay.
Notes:
The tour operator reserves the right to alter the itinerary on the basis of sea and weather conditions. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Sightseeing is from the boat only; you will not step ashore. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. The boat is not wheelchair-accessible. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, etc) cannot be accommodated on the transportation. Participants must be able to step onto the boat unassisted. Terrain includes a marine ramp from the pier to the boat, which can be very steep at low tide. Most bird species start migrating away around August 10. Restrooms are not available on the boat.
