Quassussuaq, Nuuk's favorite ski resort area, invites you to explore the clean, untouched wilderness of Paradise Valley. Transfer to the trailhead and set out with your guide on an invigorating hike.
After 10 to 15 minutes of walking, you're out in the sticks, with magnificent views over the Nuuk fjord system — the second largest in the world. From Paradise Valley, the path climbs up to a viewpoint for more vistas over Nuuk and the fjord. The hike takes you past streams and small lakes with many beautiful spots to rest.
After the viewpoint, you start down towards the relatively new town of Malene Bay. The trail ends at Qinngorput, and a shuttle returns you to the ship.
Notes:
Tour sequence may vary. Wear sturdy, non-skid walking shoes. Suitable only for experienced hikers in good physical shape, as this is a strenuous hike. Please realistically assess your physical fitness and ability before booking, as the walk is uphill, over unpaved, rough walking tracks with many steps. Limited tourism infrastructure is part of the charm here, and you are trading breadth of experience for authentic interaction. Please bring your spirit of adventure and bear with any language difficulties your guide may encounter and with any operational surprises that may crop up. Restrooms are not available on tour. Weather and atmospheric conditions vary; no guarantee is offered with regard to visibility or views on any particular day. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Bring a backpack to stow any layers you shed.
