A pleasant drive brings you to Murgo Winery, where you'll visit the cellar. Taste a range of wines paired with samples of delicious Sicilian cuisine.
Pass the villages of Santa Venerina and Zafferana en route to Europe's largest active volcano — Mt Etna. The countryside is fertile and full of vineyards and orchards. Along the way, see remnants of the 2002 eruptions.
At Silvestri Craters, nearly 6,400 feet above sea level, walk along the rim of the craters and take in the sweeping views of the sunset.
Notes:
Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, inclines, gravel, rocks and steps. Wear sturdy, non-skid, closed-toe walking shoes. Bring a sweater or jacket — temperatures drop dramatically at the summit, especially around sunset. Tour operates weather permitting. Weather and atmospheric conditions vary; no guarantee is offered with regard to visibility or views on any particular day. Mt Etna is an active volcano and erupts frequently; participate at your own risk.
