Transfer to Salerno Harbor and board a motor launch for a scenic cruise along the gorgeous Amalfi coastline. Rocky outcroppings and verdant grottos dot the cliffs.
Upon arrival in Amalfi, you'll have an hour of free time to explore the town or visit the Amalfi Cathedra (at your own expense).
Drive to Pompeii, where lunch is served at a local restaurant or hotel.
Walk with your knowledgeable guide through the ruins of this ancient city, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Pompeii was buried by ash when Mt Vesuvius violently erupted in AD 79 -- a monumental natural disaster that entombed the city and its inhabitants. The remains hint at daily life; their customs, buildings and cuisine. Some areas are remarkably preserved, with elaborately detailed mosaics and colorful frescoes decorating the interiors of wealthy homeowners' villas.
Visit a cameo factory to see how artisans apply the skills handed down for generations, intricately carving seashell or coral into beautiful jewelry.
Return to Salerno by coach.

Tour does not operate in December. The motor launch ride is weather dependent. If cancelled, a visit to Sorrento will be substituted. The drive from Salerno to Pompeii takes approximately 45 minutes. The route is winding. Guests who are prone to motion sickness should consider this before booking and/or take appropriate medication. Church admission is at your own expense and guests are asked to respect local custom and dress conservatively. Modest attire is required for visiting churches or cathedrals; knees, shoulders and midriffs must be covered; shorts and miniskirts are not allowed. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience.
