Journey through the city on a panoramic drive, crossing the main avenues and getting a feel for its bayside vibe. You will view or pause for photos at numerous locations -- the Santa Marta sign, the Old Town of Santa Marta (home to colonial- and republican-style buildings exemplifying the national history of Colombia), and the Old Customs Office, where the great liberator Simón Bolívar was repatriated and, later, a wake held for him. Watch for the Gold Museum, housed in a beautifully-restored colonial building.
Step inside the Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino former sugar mill, where Bolívar spent his last days. Inside this vast hacienda, appreciate a collection of art and artifacts and a beautiful botanic garden.
Enjoy a delightful folklore show with traditional song and dance, and a soft drink included.
You will pass through modern Santa Marta on a transfer back to the ship.
