Discover the highlights of Banjul and its surrounding towns on this half day guided tour. Begin at the National Museum, where exhibits showcase Gambian history and culture. Continue through the city to experience the lively Banjul Market, known for its energetic atmosphere and wide range of goods. You’ll also pass the main mosque and visit a well known local jewelry shop specializing in silver and gold.
Stop at Arch 22, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, before heading to Serrekunda, The Gambia’s most populated town. Here, you’ll watch a demonstration of traditional tie dye and batik techniques and see the colorful textiles produced by local artisans.
The tour then continues to Bakau for a visit to the Katchikally Crocodile Pool, home to the famous crocodile “Charlie,” featured in a British documentary. Conclude your experience at the nearby Tourist Market, where you can browse a variety of local crafts and souvenirs before returning to the pier.

Wear comfortable closed-toe walking shoes and long pants. Bring insect repellent. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable sunscreen. Bring bottled water. Visitors are not allowed to photograph military sites or personnel; doing so can lead to serious problems with the local authorities; please ask your tour guide's advice before using your camera. Please leave valuables on board the ship. If you would like to buy souvenirs at the local markets its always best to carry local currency. Most shops will not accept USD. Some may take credit cards.
