The iconic Old City Market features original wrought-iron gates and a renowned ceiling that is a shining example of marine heritage, as it was built by shipbuilders. The Market is alive with the sounds of busy clerks and shoppers, the aroma of fresh food, and colorful displays of produce, meats and seafood. While browsing among the stalls, you will sample dulse — a deep-purple sea vegetable that is dried and eaten by the handful like popcorn.
At a locally-owned, award-winning pizzeria, you will taste a hand-stretched, wood-fired, all-time favorite pizza with local flair.
Your final stop on this tasty tour will take you to Sweet Vanilla for samples of French Macarons with a maritime twist. This confectioner’s pastry will indulge you with the flavors of Maple and Blueberry, both are much loved flavors of the region! Come savor Saint John & the Bay of Fundy’s delicious and unique treats!
