Sailing from Atlantic Canada's most visited attraction -- the Halifax Waterfront -- to the hidden jewel that is the Northwest Arm, you'll quickly see why TripAdvisor calls Halifax "a destination on the rise." It offers an ever-changing skyline, a bustling modern harbor, and impressive homes and yachts.
Board the Tall Ship Silva for a memorable and beautiful cruise on the harbor. Passing your cruise ship, watch for Georges Island National Historic Site and Point Pleasant Park along the waterfront.
You'll sail into Northwest Arm – a sheltered body of water used for centuries for transportation, recreation, and fishing. North America's oldest yacht club -- the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron -- graces the shoreline of Halifax's prominent south end. Inquisitive voyagers will be curious about who owns the large estate homes, mansions and private docks. Thankfully, your guide is happy to namedrop, and the list is quite impressive.
Your guide shares the history of the boat, and the crew demonstrates how to raise the sails. You're welcome to participate as part of Team Silva.
