Depart the Port of Charlottetown and enjoy a scenic drive through Prince Edward Island’s countryside as you make your way to one of the Island’s most celebrated oyster farms, Raspberry Point. Set along the pristine waters of New London Bay, this family-run operation has been cultivating world-renowned oysters for generations.
Upon arrival, knowledgeable hosts welcome you and introduce you to the fascinating world of oyster farming. You’ll learn how oysters grow from seed to maturity, discover what makes PEI’s bays an ideal environment, and gain insight into the sustainable practices that have earned Raspberry Point oysters a global reputation among top chefs.
Your experience continues with a live shucking demonstration, where experts show you the proper technique for opening an oyster safely and efficiently. You’ll then have the chance to try shucking for yourself under guided instruction. Once you’ve mastered the basics, enjoy sampling some of the freshest oysters you’ll ever taste, complemented by a refreshing local beverage. After the tasting, take a moment to relax and soak in the beautiful seaside surroundings before returning to the port along another scenic route.
Notes:
