Travel the Amalfi Coast, widely considered to be one of the most beautiful coastal drives in the world. From the pier, you will transfer by minibus will transfer to Sorrento's motor coach terminal. From there, set out on a spectacular coastal drive, with a view of the village of Positano which is surely one of the most beautiful spots on the Amalfi Coast, if not in the world.
You will also pass through the gorges of the Furore Valley and cross the rocky slopes of Lateran Mountain.
Along the way you will stop at one of three villages -- Amalfi, Maiori or Minori -- depending upon traffic conditions. Explore the village and shop for handcrafted majolica-ware, an Amalfi Coast specialty since the Middle Ages. Wander the streets and sample Southern Italian cuisine as you enjoy lunch at a local restaurant (included). Shop for souvenirs during 45 minutes of free time.
Returning to Sorrento, you will visit a woodcraft center. Guests who wish to stay in town to shop or explore on their own are welcome to do so, but must return to the ship on their own.
Notes:
The drive between Sorrento and Amalfi is approximately 1½ hours each way. The roads on the Amalfi Coast are narrow and winding -- guests who suffer from motion sickness should consider this before booking and/or take appropriate medication. You may be required to stand during the minibus transfer from the pier.
