Calling all wine connoisseurs for a half day among the vineyards of Peljesac -- home of Croatia's premium wines. The Dalmatian Coast, a winemaking region for more than 2,000 years, is dotted with numerous inlets and peninsulas and is known for its dry white varietals and rustic, full-bodied reds.
Take a short ferry ride from the island of Korčula to the Peljesac Peninsula on Croatia's mainland. You'll drive past the beautiful vineyards and many small villages along the Peljesac as your guide explains the way of life here, which has changed very little over time.
Taste the Dingac and Postup varietals at the cellars of the Grgic and Bartulovic families. The wines are produced in the vineyard -- a natural product of the vines you see right before you, not in the lab with juice from multiple sources.
A snack is served at the Bartulovic family home. Step into local culture with a typical Croatian meal of simple and delicious fare in a konoba-style dining room. The artifacts in this home have been in the family for generations.
Notes: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Corkage policy: Wine purchased on this tour is exempt from the on-board corkage fee (offer limited to one bottle of wine per person).
