Heading out of Ringaskiddy, travel east to the village of Midleton -- the town from which the famous rare Irish whiskey gets its name.
You will visit the Old Jameson Distillery, now revamped as the Midleton Distillery Experience, an experience that will take you right to the heart of the cherished whiskey-making tradition. Enjoy a guided tour of this beautifully restored 18th-century self-contained industrial complex. Check out the copper still with a capacity of 32,000 gallons -- the largest in the world. Then, see the Irish whiskey legend come alive with a brief audiovisual presentation.
After the history lesson is an opportunity for a tasting. Relax in the atmosphere of a traditional Irish pub and sample Ireland’s finest whiskey. You’ll also have some free time to explore the giftware in the new-look Distillery Shop before reboarding the coach and returning to the ship.
