Board a motorcoach for a short drive to the Auckland Museum. Housed in a spectacular neo-Classical building, this comprehensive facility is dedicated primarily to those who sacrificed their lives for their country through New Zealand's involvement in both world wars. You may choose to view the museum with your knowledgeable guide or explore independently.
Reboard your motorcoach for a panoramic drive past Auckland's most popular sights. Auckland is one of the few cities in the world to have harbors on two different bodies of water — the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Watch for many of the city's major points of interest. In the downtown area, note the contrast in architectural styles — modern skyscrapers and restored Victorian buildings coexist in pleasant harmony.
You'll also see the colonial-style shops that line the charming streets of Parnell Village — an exclusive shopping and residential district.
Notes:
Tour requires walking approximately a half mile from the coach parking area to the Auckland Museum. Participants must be able to climb a few steps unassisted to board the transportation. Photos taken at the museum must be for personal use only; tripods are not permitted. Backpacks and other large hand-carry items are not allowed in the museum. The Auckland Museum is currently undergoing phased renovation work. Most galleries are open, but there may be a couple of closures during your visit. Please note not all exhibits are shown during the guided tour. Tour sequence may vary.
