Breathtaking beyond words, Halong Bay is one of the world’s natural wonders and deserves its UNESCO World Heritage Site status. The Bay of Descending Dragons boasts mystical landscapes that are one of Asia’s most iconic sights. Some 1,600 islands and islets form a spectacular seascape of limestone pillars (known as karsts), lush islands and emerald waters. Spend the day discovering this National Treasure by kayak.
Board a junk (wooden boat) from the barge alongside the ship and transfer to the kayak location. From here, paddle your two-person kayak around the bay, with opportunities to pause at some of the numerous grottoes and caves on the islands and to step ashore to explore on foot.
As you climb the steps to Thien Cung Cave, you will enjoy memorable panoramic views of the verdant islands and shimmering waters below.
Relax on the cruise back to the tender pier.
Notes:
Tour requires strenuous activity. Although sometimes perceived as a passive and relaxing sport, kayaking comes with inherent physical challenges and is therefore advisable only for those in good health. Previous kayaking experience is not required. Do not bring valuable items such as jewelry or expensive watches on tour. Tour does not operate on holidays.
