Discover the exceptional beauty of the Mingan Archipelago on a boat trip departing from Havre-Saint-Pierre.
This scenic cruise takes you to Petite Ile au Marteau. A Parks Canada heritage presenter will accompany you on a walk to the lighthouse station. An easy-to-moderate walk allows you to discover the flora of the island and the lighthouse that has helped prevent shipwrecks since 1915. The lifestyle of the lighthouse keepers will be revealed, as well as the secrets of the shoreline.
On your way to the lighthouse station, stop at the lookout and enjoy the panoramic view offered by the sea-sculpted limestone cliffs of Grosse Ile au Marteau.
Notes:
Participants with mobility limitations may be able to participate with a companion to assist. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Wear sturdy non-skid walking shoes. Duration may vary slightly. On the island there will be Parks Canada Rangers stationed at different locations to answer guests' questions.
