Walk 500 yards from the tender pier to board a RIB boat for an amazing morning or afternoon out on the water surrounding Nanortalik, just below the Arctic Circle.
A myriad of granddaddy icebergs form a habitat for a large variety of marine mammals — seals, humpback whales and minke whales, as well as numerous seabird species. Keep an eye out for any and all of these fascinating creatures.
Notes:
Minimum age is 16 years. Wildlife sightings are likely but not guaranteed. Flotation suits are provided and must be worn (sizes S - 3XL). Wear sturdy, non-skid walking shoes. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Limited tourism infrastructure is part of the charm here, and you are trading breadth of guide experience for authentic interaction. Please bring your spirit of adventure and bear with any language difficulties your guide may encounter and with any operational surprises that may crop up. There are no restrooms available during the tour.
