Discover some of the sites used as filming locations in the hit TV series Outlander on this small-group outing (maximum 16 privileged guests).
Travel to the grounds of Midhope Castle, better known to Outlander fans as Lallybroch — the family seat of Jamie Fraser and his sister Jenny. Take some time here to explore the castle, its grounds and exterior to allow you to perfectly capture the feel of the many scenes shot here.
Next, visit imposing Blackness Castle, which doubled as the garrison prison in Fort William, where Jamie Fraser is imprisoned, and some of the series' most dramatic scenes unfold. With its ship-like shape jutting into the Firth of Forth,
Blackness Castle's stone walls echo with tales of conflict and courage.
A panoramic drive through the heart of Central Scotland brings you to the Royal Burgh (City) of Stirling — straddling the line between the Lowlands and the Highlands, and of great strategic importance. It has long been said that whoever holds Stirling Castle holds Scotland. You will have free time to purchase lunch here (at your own expense) and perhaps indulge in some shopping.
Next up, on the northern side of the Firth of Forth, the enchanting Royal Burgh of Culross has you stepping back in time to Cranesmuir. This is where Geillis Duncan lives with her husband, and this is where Claire and Geillis are marched through the streets of Cranesmuir, accused of witchcraft. View the herb garden that Claire works at in the grounds of fictional Castle Leoch, set behind the impressive real-life Culross Palace.
Treasuring this fantastic exposure to Outlander locations, you'll return to the ship in South Queensferry.
