Board an air-conditioned motorcoach for a narrated drive through Alexandria, Egypt's second-largest city, founded by Alexander the Great.
Visit Fort Qait Bay whose medieval fortress guards Alexandria's eastern harbor and was built on the ruins of Faros Lighthouse -- one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Next, visit the Roman Amphitheatre with its 13 tiers of seats in European marble, columns of green marble from Asia Minor, and mosaic paving. With seating for 800 spectators, the theater was possibly an ancient concert or athletic venue.
At the end of your tour, you will head to the Library of Alexandria, a beautiful, modern library that is also a complex of museums, exhibition areas and conference centers.
Notes:
Minimum age is 6 years. In the event the library is closed, a visit to the National Museum will be substituted. Modest attire is required; knees, shoulders and midriffs must be covered. Tight-fitting, transparent, or translucent clothing is not permitted. Do not wear white clothing, as it is seldom adequately opaque. Please err on the side of conservatism with your attire. Tour does not operate on Fridays or holidays.
